A rumoured plot to impeach the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has been dismissed by the leadership of the state’s legislature.
Speaking to the Journalists in Yenagoa, the Chairman of the Bayelsa state house of Assembly Committee on Information, Tare Porri, said that at no time were the legislators under the leadership of Speaker Abraham Ingobore contemplating on such a move.
He said that the relationship between the legislature and the executive had been very cordial, adding that members would not be distracted by unfounded stories, aimed at causing disaffection in the State.

Porri said that the House under the leadership of the current Speaker, Abraham Ingobore would not be distracted from working in synergy with the executive arm of government, to deliver democratic dividends to the people, but would however not shy away from exercising it oversight functions
The House committee Chairman, while affirming the Independence of the 6th Bayelsa State, Assembly, assured that the 2021 Legislative Year would produce laws that will have positive impact on the people of the state.
