Governor Dickson also made a case for adequate funding of the Nigerian Armed Forces to tackle the menace of insurgency and terrorism
If the war against insurgency, kidnapping, sea piracy, oil bunkering and other criminal activities in Nigeria must be won, adequate funding and re- training of the Nigerian Armed Forces must be made an utmost priority by the Federal Government.

This was the message delivered by the Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson at the interdenominational church service at the King of Glory Chapel, Government house, Yenagoa, in commemoration of the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
To underscore the selfless acts of service and sacrifices by the Nigerian Armed Forces in the protection of the country’s territorial integrity and the peace and stability of the country, Governor Dickson called for more support for the families of the fallen heroes as well as those alive.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day interdenominational church service brought together top government officials, security chiefs both retired and those in active service as well as other members of the Armed Forces to celebrate the fallen heroes.
