In furtherance of its principle in promoting transparency and accountability in governance, the Bayelsa State Government says it received N1.2 billion as internally generated revenue for the month of March 2020 being the highest amount by in the last 12 months.
Technical Assistant to the Governor on Treasury, Account and Revenue, Timipre Seipulou, came out with this while briefing journalists on the financial profile of the State for the months of March and April 2020.
While providing a breakdown of the financial records, Seipulo also announced that the sum of N13.6 billion, and N14.2 billion for the months of March and April respectively, were the amount available for spending after FAAC deductions and income from other sources including internally generated revenue, IGR.

The Governor’s aide explained that the total amount spent on salaries, both for civil servants, political appointees, board members, corps members allowances, among others, stood at N8.3 billion for the month of March.
On the capital and recurrent expenditures for both months, Seipulo said about N8 billion was spent with the balance of N573.5 million brought forward from the month of March. The foregoing in addition to the balance of N1.583 billion for April stood at N2.11 billion which is the total amount left in the State’s coffers at the end of April 2020.
