The Students Union President of the University of Benin, Foster Amadin, has appealed to students of the institution to sheath their swords over the recent clash with army personnel attached to the Supply And Transport Department of the Nigerian Army.
While speaking to journalists on Friday, the Students Union President assured that management and the students union were handling the issue towards an amicable settlement.
The video of the clash went viral on Thursday. A scene of an altercation between students of the University of Benin and military men in uniform at the school premises.

According to the Student Union President, Foster Amadin the incident happened on Thursday at an ATM gallery inside the ugbowo campus of the University of Benin where students and other persons queued up to withdraw money.
He alleged that the military men did not wait for their turn at the ATM gallery, a situation that agitated the students and led to an altercation with the military personnel.
The students Union president who was not happy with the incident alleged that the military personnel later invaded the school at midnight to beat up students and anybody around the premises
Normalcy has since been restored as the school management and the leadership of the supply and transport unit of the Nigerian army have called for calm toward a peaceful resolution of the issue.
