Following the recent ban on the use of motorcycles in Kastina Ala and Ukum Local Council Areas of Benue State to curb insecurity following the recent killings, the Benue State security council has imposed additional security measures in the area.
The Council on Wednesday imposed an 8 pm to 6 am curfew in the two affected local governments.
The Deputy Governor, Benson Abounu, who made this known in Makurdi, the state capital, said the council equally extended the ban on the use of motorcycles till further notice.
Recall that towards the end of 2020, Ukum and Kastina Ala local government councils of the State’s east senatorial region became notorious for heinous attacks unsettling residents, including government officials which led to the ban on the use of motorcycles and mounting of illegal checkpoints.

Benue State Deputy Governor equally cleared the air on the reported burning of confiscated motorcycles confirming that there were a few such incidents but the council has ordered that it be stopped forthwith.
