The coordinator of the Joint Border Drill Operations in Charge of North Central States, Comptroller Garba Muhammed has confirmed the arrest of two suspects over recent attack on his men while on duty along Chikanda, Kotangora, Jebba-Mokwa/Mandala axis of the sector.
Muhammad who disclosed this while briefing the press on the number of seizures made within 18 days in the zone, expressed displeasure over the spate of attacks by smugglers and their sympathizers with stones and machetes.
He said the Joint Border Drill Operations In charge of the North Central States intercepted 56 Unit of used vehicles and other items worth over #91.4 million within the said period.
Comptroller Muhammed,further stated that smugglers now use toilet papers, electronic gadgets, vehicles spare parts, bags of salt and fruits like water melon to conceal foreign rice.
The seizures made by the Joint Border Drill Operations includes 1,433 bags of foreign rice concealed in bags of salt and water melon, 220 pieces of used tyres and 6 drums of premium motor .
Muhammed however commended other sister security agencies for their patriotic collaboration towards fighting smuggling in the overall interest of the Nation.
