Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has presented a 2021 Appropriation bill of about 209 billion Naira before the state’s House of Assembly.
Tagged, “The People’s Budget of Recovery and Consolidation”, it has a proposed recurrent expenditure of 72.7 billion naira and capital component of 135 billion baira for the 2021 fiscal year.
Governor Babagana Zulum said, the budget would be financed from recurrent revenue of 90.2 billion naira and capital receipt of 118 billion naira.
He told the lawmakers that the budget is expected to consolidate the recovery effort of the state government, and set the foundation for the implementation officers the state’s development plan.
The Ministry of Works got the highest allocation of 19 billion naira, followed by the Ministry of Education, with 16 billio Naira, while the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, which he once headed during Kashim administration was allocated over 15 billion naira.

Professor said, his administration will continue to pursue with vigour, the resettlement of more communities such as Malamfatori, Kareto, Abadam and Sabon Gari.
The idea, Governor Zulum told the lawmakers, is to meet the target of closing down IDP camps by May, 2021.
The Speaker of the Borno State Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan promised an expeditious passage of the proposed budget.
