With the tests required to discharge a Covid-19 patient under care reduced from two to one, the number of those leaving treatment centres across the country has been on the increase.
In the last 24 hours, 140 patients have been discharged in Nigeria bringing the total number of successfully treated cases in the country to 1,320. In fact, in Taraba State, all the Covid-19 patients have been discharged leaving the State with no active case.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has announced 288 new cases of Covid-19 in 15 states with the total number of confirmed cases in the country now 5,445.
The 288 new Covid-19 cases include 179 in Lagos, 20 in Kaduna, 15 each in Katsina and Jigawa, 13 in Borno and 11 in Ogun.
Others are 8 in Kano, 7 in FCT, 4 each in Niger and Ekiti, 3 each in Oyo, Delta and Bauchi, 2 in Kwara and 1 in Edo.
The Federal Capital Territory has in recent days recorded fewer cases of new infections which have slowed its total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases to 386.
The new data from NCDC shows that 4 more patients died of Covid-19 infection in Nigeria with the death toll put at 171.
