An Army officer, Captain Gana and 2 others who were kidnapped few days ago by unknown gunmen in Akoko area of Ondo State have been rescued by security operatives.

Captain Gana and other travellers were abducted around Auga-Akoko-Ibilo were also rescued at a forest around the boundary between Ondo and Edo States near Ibilo.
Spokesperson of the Nigerian Army 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Captain Ayorinde Omojokun in a telephone interview with AIT confirmed that a combined team of the Army and other security agencies rescued the military officer without paying any ransom.
The kidnappers who earlier demanded N20 million ransom, escaped from their den where the victims were kept.
