Members of the Edo State House of Assembly have removed the Speaker, Frank Okiye, from office over allegations of financial misappropriation among others.
His removal from office followed the motion moved by Henry Okhuarobo, representing Ikpoba-Okha State Constituency and seconded by Emmanuel Okoduwa from Esan North East State Constituency.
Okiye has been removed from office barely one month to the inauguration of Governor Godwin Obaseki for his second term.

Meanwhile, Marcus Onobun, representing Esan West State constituency has been elected as the new Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly.
