The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has reported a record 1,145 new Covid-19 infections in the country. This takes the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 76,207 as Presidential Task Force officially declares the country is currently experiencing the second wave of the infection.
There are 24 states with the new Covid-19 cases including Lagos-459; FCT-145; Kaduna-138; Plateau-80; Katsina-70; Gombe-52; Niger-31; Kano-23; Bayelsa-21; Bauchi and Ondo-18 each.

Rivers has 17 new Covid-19 cases; Ogun and Oyo-12 each; Edo and Nasarawa-8 each; Ebonyi-7; Osun-6; Ekiti and Kebbi-5 each; Borno-4; Jigawa-3; Akwa Ibom-2 and Anambra-1.
Meanwhile, 335 Covid-19 patients have been discharged across Nigeria in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of successfully treated cases to 67,110.
At least 1 more person has died of Covid-19 related complications in Nigeria in the last 24 hours with the national death toll from infection put at 1,210.
