The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has been cleared by the FIFA governance and review committee, to run for a seat on the FIFA council.
The committee which was assisted by an independent firm, cleared Pinnick to contest after conducting a background integrity check on the NFF president.
The former Delta State Football Association chairman, had indicated interest to contest for the FIFA council in November amid speculations that he was gunning for the CAF presidency seat.

Similarly all four candidates for the CAF presidential election, were also cleared to contest.
They are Augustin Senghor of Senegal, Jacquers Anouma of Cote Dí voire Ahmad Yahya of Mauritania and Patrice Motsepe of South Africa.
The election will hold on March 12 2021 in Morocco.
