The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC says “the laboratory result of the patient in Enugu suspected to have #COVID19 is NEGATIVE”.
A 70-year old grandmother who recently returned from the United Kingdom was quarantined after she presented symptoms similar to those of Coronavirus at the Enugu State University of Technology Teaching Hospital.

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Ifeanyi Agujiobi on behalf of the Commissioner have earlier said the result was negative
The statement read “we have received the result of the investigation sent to IRUA Specialist Hospital which is further corroborated by Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as NEGATIVE” .
The State Government enjoins the general public to go about their normal business however to remain alert and vigilant observing basic personal health hygiene”
Meanwhile, the NCDC says “it is important to wait for confirmation from NCDC before spreading information on social media.
