President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Lateef Babatunde Ayeleru as the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria French Language Village, Badagry, Lagos.
Professor Ayeleru replaces Professor Rauf Adebisi who has served out his tenure as Director.
The information, which was contained in a statement on Friday by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and signed by the Deputy Director Press in the Ministry, Ben Goong, said the appointment takes effect from January 10, 2020.
The Minister, who felicitated with Professor Ayeleru on his appointment, said that the appointment is for a single term of five years while urging him to cater for the yearnings and expectations of the Federal Government in the performance of his duties.
Adamu also added that the conditions of service of Professor Ayeleru, include remunerations and fringe benefits, as provided for Vice-Chancellors in Federal Universities.

Professor Ayeleru, who hails from Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, was born on February 12, 1966, and holds a Ph.D. in African Literature/Applied Linguistics; Masters degree in French Studies; Bachelor of Arts degree in French as well as other degrees.
Until his appointment, he was a 3-time Head of the Department of European Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan.
