Cholera outbreak claims two lives in Yala LGA of Cross River State

 The Cross River State Government says investigations are ongoing to confirm if the death of the two persons as a result of suspected Cholera outbreak in Mbora, Ukele South area of Yala Local Government Area.

Director General of State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Janet Ekpenyong stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Calabar. Ekpenyong said a team from the Ministry of Health comprising of the State Epidemiologist, doctors, nurses as well as healthworkers have been dispatched to the area to investigate the causes of the death.

Only last week, 10 persons were confirmed dead from Cholera outbreak, in Ekureku community in Abi Local Government Area of the state while many were hospitalised as a result of drinking polluted water from a stream in the area.
