Two youths at Ekpri Ikang in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State were alledgedly shot dead by stray bullets from operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
The operatives who were on patrol in the area were on the trail of a suspected oil bunkerer when their bullets were said to have killed the 2 youths. The victims whom one was identified as “Papa” according to eye witness was a staff of the Port Hacourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC.
One of the victims was reportedly died on the spot, while the other who was critically injured, died later died at an undisclosed health facility in the area.

Speaking on the incident, the State Commandant of the Corps, Danjuma Elisha, said the matter has been reported to his office and is under investigation. He promised to handle the matter in a professional manner.
