Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Kano wants the Federal Government to reform the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS not to scrap the police unit.
The leader of the group Comrade Abdullahi Ali made the call at a press conference on the”ENDSARS” Campaign in Kano.
There have been protests and calls for an end to the brutality of special anti robbery squad of the police otherwise called SARS, that made the Inspector General of police Mohammed Adamu to ban operatives of the federal special Anti-robbery squad SARS and other tactical squad of the force from routine patrol.

It is against this background, that the coalition is calling on the federal government to reform instead of banning the unit.
Though SARS is supposed to deal with crimes associated with armed robbery ,operatives often times commit violation of human rights.
