Members of the House of Representatives have rejected a motion calling for the evacuation of Nigerians in the Wuhan city of China that has been worst hit by the Coronavirus outbreak.
The motion moved by Benjamin Kalu, wants the Federal Government to evacuate affected Nigerians back home where they will be quarantined.

Deputy House Leader, Peter Akpatason and the Minority Leader, Ndidi Elumelu refused to second the motion. All efforts by the Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila to ensure that the House takes the motion was rejected through a majority voice vote.
