The Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, Dr Mohammed Shehu, has identified abuse of office, conflict of interest, favouritism and manipulation of official processes as other forms of corruption.
Shehu stated this at the opening of a five-day sensitisation and capacity-building workshop for officers of the Commission’s North-West Zonal and State Offices in Kaduna.
The workshop, organised by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, in partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, focuses on strengthening ethical conduct, transparency and accountability in the public service.
The workshop provides an opportunity for officers to examine the wider dimensions of corruption and the role of individual responsibility in preventing unethical practices.

Represented by the Federal Commissioner representing Kwara State and Provost of ACTU, Ismail Agaka, the RMAFC Chairman said the constitutional responsibilities of the Commission placed it at the centre of Nigeria’s fiscal governance.
He maintained that such responsibilities required not only competence and diligence, but also an uncompromising commitment to integrity.
Shehu warned that corruption could weaken public institutions and erode citizens’ confidence in government.
The workshop also reinforces the need for public institutions to promote systems where integrity is not merely discussed, but demonstrated through everyday decisions and official processes.
