A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt will on Wednesday hear a suit filed by a Peoples Democratic Party Governorship aspirant in Edo State Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama seeking to stop Godwin Obaseki from contesting Thursday’s governorship primary of the PDP.
Ahead of the hearing of the case, the plaintiff, in a motion exparte sought for an interim order restraining the PDP from allowing any aspirant except those who have purchased forms and were screened within the time earlier stated before the party announced a postponement of the primary to June 25.

The order for interim injunction against the PDP and Obaseki was however not granted by the court.
The judge instead granted leave for substituted service of the originating summons and other processes in the suit on the defendants by publishing it on two national dailies.
The court also granted an order for accelerated hearing of the case which has been adjourned till Thursday the 24th of June.
