Cross River State Government has re-introduced mobile courts across the eighteen local government areas to court-martial defaulters of use of face mask in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
Chairman of Covid-19 Taskforce Response Team,Dr Betta Edu, said the special mobile court is set up by the Cross River State Judiciary in collaboration with security agencies and the taskforce to enforce stricts compliance.
Edu said following the ease of lockdown, citizens in the state have reduced compliance on the use face mask which has become a risk to the state’s effort to contain the disease.
The Taskforce Chairman called on the people of Cross River State to ensure the proper use of their facemasks in the public rather than wear it under their chin or carry it in their pockets or face the law.

The compulsory use of face mask in Cross River State has now been gazetted by the Government, following an enacted bill by the Cross River State House of Assembly.
