Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi has flagged off the COVID-19 Protocol Compliance campaign in the State.
At an event in Abakaliki, the State capital, Umahi tasked the Committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe to ensure that residents were more enlightened on the reality of COVID-19.
Since the outbreak of the second wave of the COVID-19 in Nigeria, available statistics indicate that Ebonyi State as at Thursday, January 21, 2021, has recorded a total number of 92 cases, though without fatalities.
The Umahi led government is concerned about sustaining this zero fatality rate and wants residents to follow the rules.

Apart from various proactive steps taken by the State government in the past few weeks including the decontamination of public places and restrictions on social gatherings, authorities flagged off what it calls the COVID-19 Protocol Compliance campaign.
In addition to medication and known COVID-19 protocols, Governor Umahi who is not a medical expert believed thinks that steam inhaling is another helpful way to battle this respiratory disease.
The Ebonyi State governor asked the people to reject the information being spread by some people that COVID-19 is not real and that its vaccine is not safe.
