The Federal government has been advised to carefully follow the trend on safety protocols in the western world in order to prevent the further spread of Covid-19 before reopening of schools and to adopt the use of digital technology to teach students while staying in the comfort of their homes
A Professor of epidemiology and disease control who is also the outgoing Vice-chancellor of the Alhikma University, Ilorin, Taofeeq Ibrahim made the call while speaking during a news programme of the Correspondents Chapel of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
Taofeeq urged the federal government to use digital technology to enhance teaching and learning during Covid-19 pandemic, saying it is not yet safe to reopen schools because of inadequate safety infrastructures in the country.
With the rise in the number of affected persons, Taofeeq urges Nigerians to be patient with the present situation and support government efforts to flatten the curves of the pandemic.
