Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, southeast Nigeria has assured residents that the state government has put everything in place to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
Governor Umahi gabe the assurance during a weekly broadcast in Abakaliki on the update of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
The governor however expressed worry that worship centers in the state have refused to comply with the precautionary guidelines, warning that the government will not hesitate to close down worship centers in the state indefinitely.
Governor David Umahi also threatened to shut down the international market in Abakiliki, the state capital, if traders continue to contravene the guidelines for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
He further stated that 152 cases have been recorded in the state while 72 have been successfully treated.
He urged residents to always observe all the guidelines to avoid being infected with the virus.
