State Governors in Nigeria have mapped out fresh up strategies to check the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
One of the steps being taken is to increase the level of testing.
Rising from its 12th COVID-19 Teleconference meeting, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, expressed concerns over the continuous rise of Covid-19 cases.
Other interventions initiated in collaboration with the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 is the promotion of non-pharmaceutical initiatives including hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, mandatory masking in public especially in local government areas identified with high burden of the Disease.
The Governors did not rule out another partial or total lockdown restricting movement as part of the intervention to check the continuous rise of cases.
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 had earlier in the week said it could be forced to recommend another lockdown to President Buhari if the rise in cases continues.
