As the second wave of Covid-19 intensifies, Port Harcourt residents have been called upon to adhere strictly to the safety protocols so as to reduce the number of infections.
The call became necessary following the spike in cases of Covid 19 patients in Rivers state in recent times.
Medical experts in port Harcourt told ait.live that the number of persons affected with Covid 19 in the second wave in rivers state is increasing by the day compared to when the pandemic first came out in 2020.

They said the non adherence to Covid-19 safety guidelines and protocols is to be blamed for the spike.
According to them, port Harcourt residents have thrown all caution to the wind as some residents were still sceptical about the reality of the Covid 19 pandemic.

As at 7th February 2021,about 2,916 Covid 19 cases have been confirmed in Rivers State, cases out of which 2758 recovered while 59 died.
