The Cross River State House of Assembly has declined to screen Gladys Eutamdala, a Commissioner-nominee from Yakurr Local Government Area.
The reason is over multiple petitions from her people.

The rejection was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Matthew Okache, quoting the Chairman, Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions, and Conflict Resolution, Davis Etta, as saying that her screening has been declined.
He said Eutemdala’s commissioner-nomination was met with several petitions from some Yakurr indigenes who raised critical issues of great public concern against her nomination, assuring that the Assembly was for the people and not a few individuals.
Okache said the Speaker, Elvert Ayambem, had severally told the people of Cross River State that the 10th Assembly was pro-people, and would always respect and protect the interests of the people.
