Cross River State has recorded its Covid-19 Index case of a patient that has now been successfully treated and discharged.
Chief Medical Director, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Professor Ikpeme Ikpeme, in a circular to staff, announced that Cross River State Covid-19 index case was discharged last week.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has approved the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital as independent Covid-19 Test Centre without need to pass samples through the Cross River State Epidemiology Unit.

All 36 states in Nigeria and Federal Capital Territory have now recorded cases of Covid-19 since the country’s index case was reported on February 27.
