The Cross River State Government has promised to establish more development centres that will provide skills and train rural women in agriculture and its value chains.
The centres, which will be in central and Northern parts of the state, will bring the government closer to rural women and address poverty and unemployment among the rural dwellers.

The wife of the Cross River State Governor, Dr. Linda Ayade, made this known during the 2020 International Women’s Day celebration in Calabar, the state’s capital.
She said more women will be empowered through the initiative.
On their part, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Rita Ayim, and that of Local Government Affairs, Stella Odey, said with the initiative, better days are ahead of Cross River women.
Cross River State has been a voice in celebrating International Women’s Day which is a global day to take stock of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
