The Delta State Government says at no time did the Okowa Administration sign any law approving jumbo pay and other allowances as pensions for ex-governors as been peddled in some sections of the media.
The state Commissioner for Information Charles Aniagwu who made this clarification at a news conference in Asaba said rather, the pension law for ex-governors has been in existence since 2005.

He pointed out that the only time the House affected minor changes in the law was in 2019 when the state House of Assembly amended the law to include the late Prince Sam Obi who was acting Governor between November 2010 and January 2011.
Aniagwu challenged those behind the story to make detailed evidence of their claim available the public
The Commissioner used the occasion to extend the hand of fellowship to those who lost the governorship election to join Governor-elect Sheriff Oborevwori in building a stronger Delta instead of engaging in post-election misinformation gimmicks.
