There are growing concerns by residents of Jos North, Plateau State capital, over the increasing number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the metropolis.
The residents want the government to immediately commence community testing, rather than ordering only cabinet members to undergo the test, after the Commissioner for Commerce, and later the Chief of Staff to the Governor tested positive for the virus.
Jos North is known to be the epicenter of Coronavirus on the Plateau with about 300 out of the 400 cases from the index case.
It has witnessed mysterious deaths and burial of over 100 persons in one single week recently.
Two health facilities and a bank have also been closed recently.

Efforts by the state authorities to curb the spread of the virus don’t seem to be yielding results as the number of infected persons continues to rise alarmingly.
The lifting of the ban on interstate travel and the non-compliance with Covid-19 protocols is perhaps another issue for concern.
