Patients at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, have been returning to their homes as a result of the National Association of Resident Doctors strike which is taking its toll on the people.
President of the Association in UCTH, Akaniyene Esuaiko, said despite the effort of medical doctors at the heat of the Covid-19 pandemic, which one of the doctors of the hospital paid a supreme price for, the Federal Government still failed to fulfill the promise made to them.
Akaniyene, while pleading with the patients and the general public to put themselves in their shoes, explained that the strike will be total until further directives from the National Headquarters of the Association.
