Nigeria’s men basketball team, D’Tigers have qualified for the afrobasket 2021 billed for Rwanda.
They defeated south sudan 75-70 on wednesday in a match day four fixtures of the qualification tournament in monasrir Tunisia to become the first team to qualify after the host nation.
Ike Iroegbu and obi Emegano scored double digits to combine 31 points for Nigeria but it was Mini omot of south sudan that scored a game high, 27 points.
D Tigers opened a 9 points lead in the first quarter with score at 9- 18.
The south sudanese were better off in the second quarter and at half time they reduced the deficit by a point

Third quarter was the exact opposite of the second with D’Tigers restoring their nine points lead.
South sudan took the fourth quarter 22 – 18 but lost the game 75 -70
D’Tigers are without coach Mike Brown and Alex Iwora at the qualification tournament in Tunisia. Both coaches were excused by the Nigerian Basketball Federation.
The team however remained focused on securing the qualification ticket.
