Some legal practitioners and political stakeholders in Akwa Ibom state have hailed the landmark judgment by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja that sacked Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a chat with ait.live in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, they say the judgment is a welcome development.

Reactions have continued to trail the judgment sacking the Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi. President of Ati Annang Foundation and Senior Advocate of Nigeria , Uwemedimo Nwoko and former National legal adviser of the PDP , Emmanuel Enoidem says it will deepen democracy in the country.
On President Muhammadu Buhari’s bid to amend the recently amended electoral act 2022, respondents expressed divergent views.
With the rejection of the amendment by the senate its effect is likely to throw up some interesting scenarios in the build up to the upcoming party primaries.
