The standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has assured the Enigie of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area that his administration will position the local government area and the state capital to deal with the challenges associated with rapid urbanisation.

The Governor gave this assurance at the palace of the Enogie of Ukhiri-Eresoyen, His Royal Highness, Richard Osaigbovo Ogunbor, as the campaign team of the party continued its ward rounds at Edo South Senatorial District.

The PDP campaign team visited the Enigie in the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area at the palace of the Enogie of Ukhiri-Eresoyen for prayers.

Governor Obaseki was concerned about the rapid growth in the state capital, Benin City.

His administration is putting measures in place to ensure that a blueprint is made to tackle the issue of urbanisation and eradicate the negative effect of the outlawed Community Development Association also known as CDA on land encroachment.

The team proceeds to see the Ohens at Ohen-Eregie Palace in Ogbeson Quarters.

From there, they headed to wards one, two, three, and four where a massive crowd of supporters were on hand to receive them.

Secretary to Edo State Government, Osarodion Ogie, and Chairman of the State Campaign Council, Dan Orbih, were emphatic that the people-oriented projects of Obaseki are enough to get him re-elected.

They, thereafter, headed to Gospel Defender Ministry where the Governor and his Deputy were anointed for a second term in office by Bishop Fred Aghedo under the auspices of Consensus Christian Leaders Forum.
