The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has expressed displeasure over the non-implementation of the December 3rd to the 18 dates proposed, for the National Sports Festival this year by the Presidential Taskforce, PTF, which is in charge of COVID-19 protocols observance.
Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, who is also the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, made this known while addressing journalists in the Government House, Benin City.
Shaibu wondered why the twentieth National Sports Festival has been put on hold, while other aspects of the economy have reopened.
He also called for incentives for sportsmen and women in the country, who have been idle since the advent of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The Chairman of the LOC Edo Games insisted that the state was ready to host the games in terms of facilities and manpower, taking into cognisance the COVID-19 protocols.
