The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has called on members of the state selection committee, to implement the Special Public Works Programme in a manner that promotes work culture rather than appear as a simple financial support to the beneficiaries of the Federal Government initiative.
The Governor made this call when he received the twenty man committee in the Government House, Benin City.
The special public works programme is a Federal Government initiative, meant to alleviate poverty.
One thousand participants are drawn from the seven hundred and seventy four local government areas in Nigeria, making a total of seven hundred and seventy four thousand beneficiaries from the thirty six states.
The twenty man selection committee for Edo State led by Professor Sam Guobadia, was in Benin, to intimate Governor Godwin Obaseki on the steps taken so far.
