The Edo State Government has debunked allegations that it is owing some Local Government Councillors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, noting that it has been up to date with its obligations to all cadre of workers or public officers.
A statement released by the Special Adviser to Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, noted that the State Government has never reneged on its obligations to pay workers and other cadres of staff their due wages and salaries, debunking the allegation that it owes some public officials over political differences.
According to him, the Edo State Government remains one of the few states in Nigeria that has been faithful with its salary obligations to workers and that it is the government’s belief that every worker deserves his or her wages.
He said that the claims being made by some persons over owed salaries were baseless.
