The Edo State Government says tough times await residents who flout COVID-19 safety protocols put in place to curtail the spread of the disease.
Governor Godwin Obaseki who is Chairman of the State COVID-19 Taskforce and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, Chairman of the Technical Sub- Committee made this known in Benin City on Tuesday during a sensitization exercise.
Governor Obaseki insists that laid down guidelines and rules spelt out for the purpose of keeping residents safe from the virus must be followed to the letter.

Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu said an enforcement exercise to some public places in the state and there will be consequences for those found disregard Covid-19 preventive measures.
The State Government intends to step up its enforcement of Covid-19 guidelines especially during this second wave of the pandemic by using the services of the newly recruited constabularies of the state community policing programme.
