The standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Saturday’s Edo governorship election and incumbent Governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, has called on residents to continue to pursue peace before, during, and after the September 19 governorship election.
Governor Obaseki stated this at the Rock of Ages Christian Assembly in Benin City, where he expressed optimism that the Edo electorates are discerning people who will vote wisely for a candidate that will use the resources of the state for effective development.
The Governor said the visit to the church is to encourage worshippers not to nurse fears that the election will be marred by violence.
Noting that Saturday’s ballot will be a critical decision-making moment for the people, Obaseki is emphatic that peace is a necessary tool for the enhancement of the state.
Senior Pastor of the Church, Pastor Charles Osazuwa, prayed for a peaceful conduct of the election and urged all members to ensure they perform their civic right on September 19.

Prayers were, thereafter, offered for the Edo State Government.
