Edo State Commissioner of Police, Lawan Jimeta says there will be an expanded meeting of key players to prevent cases of farmers–herders clashes in the State.
Jimets stated this while briefing journalists after the first State Security Council meeting of the year which held in Benin City, the state capital
Two persons were allegedly killed on Monday in a clash between farmers and herdsmen in Sobe, Owan West Local Government Area of the State.

The Police Commissioner says it was a case of retaliation and that the Command is on the matter and those culpable will be arrested.
Jimeta noted that measures are being put in place to prevent such clashes.
He also informed that the two teachers abducted from Obi Primary School in Avbiosi Community also in Owan West Local Government Area have been released to their families.
Governor Godwin Obaseki who chaired the security council meeting said that it was a review of the 2019 security situation in the State.
