Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has commended the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration in Edo State for its commitment to the successful hosting of the 20th National Sports Festival and taking into cognisance, the need for proactive steps to be taken to ensure public health safety against Coronavirus, before, during, and after the games.
The Minister, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Gabriel Aduda, stated this after an inspection of sports facilities in Benin City.

The Joint Main and Local Organising Committees were on an assessment tour of facilities to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the state’s bid to host a successful National Sports Festival.
The Minister commended the effort of Edo State Government for taking the novel Coronavirus into consideration as it prepares for the games.
Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, who is also Chairman, Local Organising Committee, noted that maintaining public safety is vital to the state.
Shaibu assured sports lovers of an eventful and memorable festival.
