Edo State wing of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, has suspended its 19-day-old strike by public primary school teachers in the state.
In a communiqué sent to ait.live, the union said the suspension became necessary after interventions from key players, civil society organisations and the national leadership of the union.

The union while urging the striking teachers to resume work on Monday 8 of February want Edo State Government to utilize the opportunity of the suspension of the strike to urgently meet the demands of the Union so as to restore hope and confidence between government and the Union.
