Eid-El-Kabir celebrations in Maiduguri and the liberated areas in Borno State have gone on peacefully. Security deployments by the police and other agencies were massive at the various prayer grounds, to ensure hitch-free Sallah.
Muslim faithful started trooping to prayer grounds early as Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, the Shehu of Borno and other dignitaries, observed the Eid-El Kabir rites, at the Ramat Square Ground.

The Police had imposed restriction of vehicular movements from 6 am till mid-day, and advised that people pray at grounds nearest to them. There had been a joint show of force by the police and sister agencies, to demonstrate their readiness to ward off any negative intentions of terrorists, and other criminal elements.
