Ekiti State Government has raised alarm over the continued disregard for the use of Face Mask by the Citizens and has decided to go tough on erring Members of the Public.
The Attorney General and Commisoner For Justice while addressing the Press Says there will be Stiffer Sanctions for members of the Public who fail to comply with the directive.
Though Ekiti State has recorded relatively low cases of COVID19 compared to neighbouring States, the government still feels that carelessness by members of the public is dangerous considering the lift of ban on Inter-State travel.
The A.G stressed that Okada riders should ensure that their passengers wear facemasks, and also warns traders, shop owners, commercial centres to ensure compliance with safety precautions or face prosecution.
To this end, the Task Force will be arresting persons who do not wear face Masks and will be subsequently arraigned. Fapohunda however assures residents of the state that Human rights violations will not happen while Security operatives carry out their duties.
