Nigeria’s House of Representatives has dismissed allegations of forgery of the Electoral Act Amendment being widely reported.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, in reaction to an order of privilege raised on the floor by a member, Ugonna Ozurigbo denied any knowledge of such forgery.
The speaker said the house is yet to receive the report of the committee while insisting that no alteration was made, which said he confirmed from the chairman of the committee, Aisha Dukku.

He said the house will ensure thorough scrutiny of the clause by clause amendment before members proceed for their annual break next week.
A coalition of civil society organizations is presently protesting against the National Assembly, accusing the lawmakers of secret alterations to the Electoral Act (amendment) Bill 2020.
