In a tense standoff, police authorities have instructed protesters gathered at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, to remain inside the park and not take to the roads.

However, the demonstrators are refusing to back down, insisting on their right to peaceful assembly and free movement.

The police directive aims to restrict the protest’s visibility and impact, but the protesters are resolute in their demands for good governance, economic reform, and an end to corruption.

The situation is currently at a stalemate, with protesters chanting slogans and police maintaining a firm presence.

The protesters started arriving the Gani Fawhenmi Park as early as 8am on Friday, the second day of the mass action scheduled to last for 10days.
