The Abia State Police Command says it has taken into custody 18 persons suspected to be involved in the violent attacks and destruction of property during the hijacked #EndSARS protests in the state.

Addressing reporters in Umuahia, the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Janet Agbede, said detectives recovered one FNC rifle with 12 rounds of live ammunition and other weapons from the suspects.

Agbede, who listed the areas attacked by the looters, to include five banks in Aba, two courts, among others, warned other perpetrators who are still within the state to desist from the act or face the full wrath of the law.

The Police Commissioner also debunked the rumour that the Fulanis in Abia State are grouping for an attack on the people of the state.

The Police authorities said the suspects would be charged to court at the end of ongoing investigations.
