A steering committee to plan and execute a youth summit that will chart the roadmap to address the concerns of young people has been inaugurated by the Benue State Government.
The State Governor, Samuel Ortom, who inaugurated the committee in Makurdi, the state capital, urged its chairman and members to uphold equity, fairness, and all-inclusiveness in the state assignment.
The recent agitation for inclusion by Nigerian youths is gradually attaining the desired attention as the Benue State Government has set the ball rolling by inaugurating a steering committee to organise an all-inclusive youth forum where their demands can be properly enumerated.
Governor Ortom acknowledged that young people constitute a larger percentage of Benue population and by implication, deserve not only to be carried along but should be part of the government.
An assignment the Steering Committee Chairman, Dave Ogbole, sees as a test of the youths ability to handle responsibility and pledged not to fail.
