The Kwara State judicial panel of inquiry into #EndSARS protest has begun sitting in Ilorin, the State capital, with 18 petitions submitted by the various victims of alleged police brutality to the panel.
Chairman of the panel, Justice Tunde Garba rtd, in his remarks, disclosed that the 18 petitions received so far have been forwarded to the police while the Police have responded to 4.
Justice Garba however sought the cooperation of all stakeholders for the success of the exercise. The panel he noted is desirous of promptly dispensing with all the petitions hence the need for dispatch and speedy consideration.
The Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ilorin branch, Abdulganiyu Bello, for his part assured the panel of free legal representation and services for victims of alleged police brutality, victimization, and human rights abuses.

Meanwhile, most of the cases mentioned before the panel were adjourned for further hearing and consideration at later dates.
Two ex-police detectives Akano Shola and Babatunde Glory who were among those who forwarded petitions to the panel jointly opted to change their lawyers.
The case of the former Police officers was adjourned till November 19th for hearing of their petition against the Police Authority.
